Nicola's Counselling Profile

At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship we build — a space where you can feel understood, supported, and able to make sense of your experiences. I believe in the quiet courage it takes to seek support and to grow in self-awareness. My work is shaped by a gentle, relational approach that honours each person's story and pace. My role is to support you in a way that aligns with your values and to offer a safe space to explore where life feels heavy and tangled. There is nothing that is too much, or too messy for this space.

I’m trained as an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches and shape our work around your needs, your pace, and what feels right for you. I blend various modalities including Person-Centred, CBT and Creative Interventions.

I have spent 10+ years working with people with learning disabilities and mental health challenges which has shaped me in ways that go beyond professional skill. I am able to communicate with clarity and warmth as well as hold space for complexity. I offer a collaborative space for adults who are navigating life’s challenges. Together we can explore the areas you choose - this might include relationship difficulties, grief and bereavement, low self‑esteem, anxiety, depression, exhaustion, disability, trauma or experiences of abuse.

I am a certified trauma informed therapist, I am passionate about journeying with people as they explore the deeper layers of their inner world, including the areas that may feel uncomfortable or difficult to approach. With care and collaboration, we work toward greater emotional freedom and a lighter, more grounded way of being.

My personal foundation is a Christian worldview however, I do not bring faith into sessions unless a client explicitly asks for it. I work from your perspective, honouring your worldview and preferences.
