Counselling Process

You can apply for counselling by visiting our "Apply for Counselling Page" and following the instructions.

Following your application we will get in touch with you to arrange a time for you to meet one of us. We will explain the process of counselling and go through our intake form with you. This session is free and gives you a chance to meet with us and make sure that we're the right fit for you. If you wish to continue with us we will be in touch to arrange your first counselling appointment.

Our first session is a gentle beginning. We will complete the counselling contract which outlines the nature and boundaries of our counselling sessions. We then take time to understand what brings you here, explore what you need, and move at your pace. Each session will cost £50 payable by card or cash.

We work in six-week cycles. Towards the end of each cycle, we pause together to review how things are going and decide collaboratively whether to contract for more sessions or to bring the work to a natural close.

When our work approaches an agreed ending, we take time to review the journey together - acknowledging your progress, what has shifted, and what now feels possible. Endings are planned with care and you will always receive clear notice an support as we bring the work to a close.

Counselling sessions are priced at £50, reflecting the time, care and professional training invested in each appointment. This fee supports a consistent, reliable space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. We aim to keep our pricing straightforward and transparent, with each session being at a flat rate of £50. This fee helps us ensure we continue our professional development and offer clients a good quality environment here at Mountains & Valley's.
